Pre-Surgery Instructions

No food after . . .

. . . the night before surgery

Kittens and puppies under 4 pounds may eat a small meal (one teaspoon of wet food) in the morning, before 6am.  Kittens and puppies must weigh at least 2 pounds.

Keep pet inside the night before surgery, if possible.  If allowed outside, it could find other food.

If pet has eaten since 10pm or it’s unknown if it has eaten, surgery cannot be done that day.  The animal could regurgitate food, inhale it and die.

Be at the clinic at 8am the day of the appointment.  Allow 20-30 min for check-in.

All cats must come in individual carriers, all dogs on leashes.  Keep them in the car while the owner comes into the clinic to fill out paperwork.

Other Services

We offer tests and vaccinations at the time of surgery or, for non-surgical clients, between 10am and 2pm.   By appointment only.

Puppies and kittens must be 7-8 weeks old.
